What We Collect

Echoes collects only what you voluntarily provide: your messages, voice recordings, photographs, and family information. We do not collect your email address, phone number, location, or browsing habits.

How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored in two places:

Locally — in your browser's storage (localForage). This never leaves your device unless you choose to sync.

Puter Cloud — if you create a free Puter account, your data is encrypted and stored in your personal Puter cloud space. We never have access to your Puter credentials or encryption keys.

Encryption

All memories stored in the AI Memory Vault are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a passphrase only you know. We cannot read your data. Nobody can — except you and the people you choose to share it with.

Cookies

Echoes uses only essential cookies: your theme preference (light/dark mode) and your cookie consent choice. We use no analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party cookies, and no advertising cookies.

Your Rights

You can export all your data at any time.

You can delete all your data at any time.

You own everything you create on Echoes.

We will never sell, share, or monetize your personal information.

Third-Party Services

Echoes uses the following third-party services:

Puter — free cloud storage and authentication (puter.com)

Neocities — website hosting (neocities.org)

Google Fonts — typography (fonts.google.com)

We receive no data from these services about you.

Compliance

Echoes is designed to comply with GDPR (EU), POPIA (South Africa), and CCPA (California). Privacy is treated as a core feature, not an afterthought.
